 Restart Idea

So I had an idea that I thought I'd toss out.

The server resets at fixed times, which you see when you log in, but not everyone watches their RL clock while they play. So what can happen is you will be in the middle of a dungeon and suddenly you get kicked for the restart. This can be pretty frustrating if you had to run a long way to get where you were, and were just near the boss only to lose your spot.

So my thoughts - would it be possible to introduce two things?

1) Some IG messaging to let players know a restart is about to happen? Maybe a 5 minute clock that counts down every 1 minute?

2) Incorporate a save system that allows players who stay logged in as the server resets? What this would look like, after the restart a player would begin in the OOC area but when they click on the book they would be ported rather than to Winter Keep to the start of the last area they had been in when the server restarted? For players who logged out as the server reset or were not logged in at all, their characters would restart at Winter Keep or wherever else they were bound to start?

Good ideas. Totally agree on being at the bottom of a dungeon and then reset.

1). There is 2 minute warning in the right display.

2). I did have some save locations if you wanted to restart at an inn instead of the OOC.


Will definitely look into the save location.
